Public Profile Settings

Make your LFX profile public or private and control which sections appear on your public profile page.

Last updated

Public profile settings control whether your public profile is visible and which sections it exposes. Your profile is private by default — nothing is shown publicly until you make it public.

Open public profile settings

  1. Sign in to app.lfx.dev and select Profile & Account.
  2. In the profile panel on the right, select Public profile settings. A drawer opens from the right side.

Make your profile public or private

At the top of the drawer, Profile visibility has two options:

  • Private (default) — your profile is hidden and no sections are exposed.
  • Public — your profile is visible at app.lfx.dev/u/<username>.

When you switch to Public, a link to your public profile appears with buttons to copy it or open it in a new tab. Switching back to Private hides your profile and turns every section off.

Choose which sections appear

When your profile is public, you control each section with a toggle. Turning a section off removes it from your public profile even if you have data for it. Settings are organized into two tabs.

Sections tab

Toggle What it shows
Project contributions Commits, pull requests, and issues across projects.
Committees & groups Committee and group memberships and roles.
Event speaking Talks and sessions you have presented at events.
Training enrollment Training programs you have enrolled in or completed.
Certifications Certifications you have earned.
Badges Credentialing badges earned across projects.
Skills Skills listed on your profile.

Personal Data tab

Toggle What it shows
General profile information Name, title, affiliation, and avatar shown on your public profile.
About me Your long-form bio.
Personal information Location and other personal details.

About me and Personal information sit under General profile information — turning the general information off also turns those two off.

When you first make your profile public, General profile information, About me, and Personal information are turned on for you. You can adjust any of them afterward.

Note: Some toggles are available in the drawer but do not yet add anything to your public profile page. Today the sections that actually appear are General profile information, About me, Project contributions, Training enrollment, Certifications, and Badges. Committees & groups, Event speaking, Skills, and Personal information can be enabled but are not shown on the public page yet.

Saving changes

There is no Save button — your changes save automatically. A short status line shows Saving changes… and then All changes saved. Changes take effect the next time your public profile is regenerated, so they may not appear on your public page instantly.
