Your Public Profile
What your public LFX profile page shows to visitors, its URL, and how visibility is controlled.

Your public profile is a page that showcases your contributions, credentials, and activity across the Linux Foundation to anyone — no sign-in required. It is separate from the private Profile section you use to manage your account.
Your public profile is only visible when you set it to public. By default it is private. See Public profile settings to make it public and choose what appears.
Your public profile URL
When your profile is public, it is available at:
app.lfx.dev/u/<username>
<username> is the username shown in the Edit Profile drawer. You can copy the exact link from Public profile settings once your profile is public.
What visitors can see
Which sections appear depends on your public profile settings and on whether you have data for that section. When enabled, a visitor may see:
- Header — your name, job title, affiliation, avatar, and a short set of social links.
- About — your long-form About Me bio.
- Project contributions — your commits, pull requests, and issues across projects.
- Badges — credentialing badges you have earned across projects.
- Certifications — certifications you have earned, with dates.
- Trainings — training programs you have enrolled in or completed.
You control each of these sections individually. If you turn a section off, or have no data for it, it does not appear.
When your profile is private
If your profile is set to private, a visitor who opens your /u/<username> link sees a Private Profile message instead of any profile content — none of your sections, contributions, or personal details are shown. The page confirms that the username belongs to a private profile; it simply withholds the content.
A link to a username that does not exist shows a different Profile Not Found message, so the two cases are distinguishable.
Keeping your public profile up to date
Changes you make in Public profile settings take effect the next time your public profile is regenerated, so a change may not appear instantly. The details themselves — name, About Me, job title, and so on — come from the fields you set in the Edit Profile drawer.
